how long will it take to replace the clutch in my 2002 renault clio
check your clutch fluid lines and your clutch fluid and also bleed the clutch and it should work just fine mine did the same thing and i had to replace a clutch line that was pinched
you will have to remove the transmission. once you have the tranny off you can remove and replace the clutch...if you buy a new clutch specific directions will come with it...too long to write here.
seven hours of labour at £39 per hour is what I was charged at my local garage to change the clutch in our Renault Scenic. Comments anyone?
depending on your level of experience about one afternoon, this isnt a job that you should try yourself if you dont have experience!
It will take not very long once it has arrived in the post. Dj Coco (BJC) Wrote this.
I can do it in about 2.5 hours. Any competent mechanic should also do it in under 4 hours. But they will charge for 6-8 hours FYI
That depends on your driving style and the type of journeys you do. Harsh clutch use on short stop/start journeys will knock a clutch out much sooner than smooth use on mainly long motorway trips.
step on the clutch and hold it to the floor clutch should stay disengaged for as long as you hold it down
Take out the old clutch. Place safely out of reach of any children. Pick up the new clutch and stick it in. You might need help from a friend as they can be heavy. Best of luck.
4 - 6 hoursdepends on who is doing the job, if its a pro, i'd allow 4 - 6 hours. i wouldn't only replace the clutch plate, if your in there, you should also do the pressure plate & thrust bearing also, better to do them now, than have all that work done again in a short time.
5 hours give or take a little.
