Either I am full of toxins or there is no problem in eating raw garbanzo beans. I rinse them really well and soak them in spring water for 24 hours. Not knowing that the water was to be thrown out and fresh used, I put the beans, water and all, in the blender, add lemon juice, raw sesame seeds, salt, olive oil, fresh, raw garlic, fresh, raw horseradish root, and sundried tomatoes and blend the heck out of it. So far I have suffered no ill effects. Quite yummy. If anyone can tell me what ill effects I should be suffering, I'd be glad to self evaluate but I've been doing this for a couple years and feel just fine.
No, it is not good. Some beans such as the commonly eaten, red kidney bean are quite toxic when eaten uncooked. Cooking the beans removes the toxic substance found in most beans.
To cook dried garbanzo beans, first rinse them and soak them in water overnight. Then, drain the beans and place them in a pot with fresh water. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 1-2 hours until the beans are tender. You can also cook them in a pressure cooker for faster results.
Yes, you are supposed to drain the water and fill with fresh water to cook the beans in.
If kept in a water tight container up to a year.
Lima beans absorb water because they are dried so when you put it in water it rehydrate

the soaked bean will be larger than the dry unsoaked been because it abosrorbs water and expands.
Soaked beans should be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container with enough water to cover them. This helps maintain their freshness and quality by preventing them from drying out or spoiling.
Soaking beans in water can create a favorable environment for microorganisms to grow, including bacteria and molds. To prevent this, it's recommended to rinse the beans and change the soaking water periodically to inhibit bacterial growth. Additionally, cooking the beans at the proper temperature can help eliminate any harmful microorganisms.
Garbanzo bean seeds are primarily dispersed by humans and animals. Humans cultivate and harvest garbanzo beans for consumption or for planting, while animals may consume the seeds and transport them to other locations before excreting them. Additionally, some seeds may also be dispersed by water or wind.
yes, they should be soaked over night
