One of Elizabeth I's act as queen was to restore Protestantism in England. England had experienced religious tumult since the death of Henry VIII. Edward VI was also a protestant, however he died young and his older sister Mary took the throne in 1553. Mary was a Catholic and changed England's religion. Several people were executed during her reign for refusing to convert to Catholicism. Elizabeth stabilized England when she took the throne.

Tudor. She was the last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. Henry VIII was the last Tudor King, he was her Father.
