Even though elizabeth was a woman (at the time women were said to be weak) she led England through the greatest military threat; the Spanish Armanda. Also, the kings and queens before her had a lot of trouble handling religion in their country. Elizabeth solved this problem using her wits allowing both religions (catholic and protestant) in the country. this spared a lot of bloodshed. ELIZABETH

As both a British and Commonwealth citizen I feel Queen Elizabeth II is a good leader as she keeps almost 54 states in a relatively peaceful state and mostly remains neutral. Her purpose in 21st Century society is to act as the Head of State of 17 nations, several of which are Overseas Territories of Britain, Australia and New Zealand and others that are ex-colonies of the UK. She acts as a symbol of sovereignty to these nations and represents those nations with the aid of her appointed Governor-Generals in each Realm, granting Royal Assent to acts of Parliament, ensuring government is run just and fairly and in some cases calling a General Election, as one of her Governor-Generals did in Australia, she also has to approve any war of which her Realms choose to enter. This being the case, as the Head of State of a combine landmass greater than that of Russia, this is beneficial as neither of her Realms would be able to declare war on each other if they desired.

Furthermore as Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, a voluntary organisation that formed from the British Empire, she acts of a symbol of free association, democracy, peace, human rights and despite her role being hereditary, Her Majesty passionately talks about and promotes the democratic process, a process which she expresses on many occasions should be adopted throughout the world.

Bare in mind Her Majesty is in her 80s and still performs all her duties and does what her countries expect of her and so far, the only country I know of that is in the process of taking the Queen out of their system, Jamaica, expressed they had nothing against the Queen, just that they wished to cut British colony ties, however they will be remaining a member state of the Commonwealth.

The Queen although not baring a political active role, is a good leader due to her promotion of democracy, free association, peace and pretty much everything that represents the good of humanity and to hold a third of the world in relative peace for almost half a century, I think is quite an achievement. Many people talk about creating peace but few rarely achieve it, and Queen Elizabeth II has certainly achieved a great deal of stability throughout the world and the organisations that work below her all play their part in doing so. To lead so much and to forever promote what is good, I think she is an amazing leader.

Why was Queen Elizabeth I arrested?

Queen Elizabeth I was arrested by her sister Queen Mary because a group of Protestants attempted to murder Queen Mary because she was prosecuting anyone who wasn't Catholic. Queen Mary just assumed that Elizabeth was the leader of the attack because she was Protestant and if Queen Mary died then Elizabeth would become queen.
