The Elizabethan Settlement was intended to put an end to the religious controversy that had developed in the latter part of the reign of Henry VIII, and had swung from one extreme under Edward VI to the other under Bloody Mary.
The settlement attempted to reconcile all shades of religious opinion, from the Anglo-Catholic or high church on the one hand to the Puritan on the other. The 39 Articles were deliberately made vague and comprehensive and the alternatives in the Prayer Book were created to allow a wide range of services.
Like all attempts at reconciliation, the Settlement was an eventual failure. The Puritans refused to compromise with "popery" while the Catholics were urged towards rebellion by their co-religionists in Europe. Nonetheless, it did provide much-needed stability during the reign of Queen Elizabeth and to a decreasing extent under the Stuarts.
The ultimate goal in the religious settlement was to revert the church back to protestant. She created a nondenominational Communion and service so that both Catholics and Protestants could take Communion.
Nobody knows for certain if Mary, Queen of Scots, did try and kill her, but Elizabeth's court believed so.
Both religious and political - Elizabeth had set up an Anglican Church which was moderately protestant - her aim was to set up a church which would be acceptable to all Protestants. The problem was she was the head of the Church and by doing this excluded all Catholics. Elizabeth tried to enforce this with an Act of Uniformity in 1552 which enraged many Catholics because if they were not Anglican they would not be considered loyal subjects. This helped to give a reason for Spain to try and attack England with the Armada in 1558. Moreover, Mary Queen of the Scots was a possible Catholic heir and the French wanted her to dethrone Elizabeth in a coup.
because she, and the catholics of England and Spain believed that Elizabeth was an illegitimate queen. they wanted a catholic queen and because Elizabeth was protestant, the easiest way to have a catholic country was to kill Elizabeth and make Mary queen.
Her cousin, Queen Elizabeth, saw her as a threat. When Mary fled to her cousin for protection, her cousin was not sure what to do. If she sent Mary back, her people might get angry and revolt. If she kept Mary in England, her [people might decide they wanted a Catholic priest and try to crown Mary and dethrone her. So Elizabeth locked her up. After 19 years in prison, Mary was found guilty of treason, and was executed.
She became Queen on the death of her father in 1952 and was Coronated in 1953. So she has been Queen for 56/57 years.
If you mean Queen Elizabeth I then sort of as she was brought up a protestant and wasn't really bothered about religion during her reign. Some catholics however did try to ovethrow her including the Mary Queen of Scots who she executed. If you mean Elizabeth II then she is christian but I don't imagine her being deeply religious or anything overdramtic
The catholic Brotherhood tried to convince queen Elizabeth that she was not of true faith. She was protestant. Elizabeth was swear to Mary that she will hold the catholic faith. when she becomes queen. she never signs. Mary then dies and Elizabeth becomes queen.
Nobody knows for certain if Mary, Queen of Scots, did try and kill her, but Elizabeth's court believed so.

it depends what you mean. bloody Mary tried to restore Catholicism to England, and burnt Protestants to try and get her way. Elizabeth wanted to restore protestantism, and in some respects succeeded. if you were Protestant Elizabeth was a better queen, but if you are catholic Mary was a better queen. hope that helps! Sir Walter Raleigh gave riches and golds to Queen Elizabeth and in reward he got to be a knight.
What caused their bad relationship was that Queen Mary was mistreated. And when she found out that Elizabeth was in her country she was scared she would try to overthrow her. So she imprisoned her ( where Elizabeth's mother died) and Elizabeth was deathly afraid of the castle. ( where her mother was killed) Most likely causing their bad relationship. The only thing that tied them together was that their parents did not give them enough attention. Elizabeth's mother was beheaded when she was 2 1/2.And Mary was mistreated and put on and off power wwwaaaayyy to many times and was ignored for most of her teen years.
