Severus Snape wanted to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts.
However, Albus Dumbledore always refused to give him the position because he believed that it would result in him returning to Dark Arts so he was given the position of Potions teacher until 1996.
In 1996, Dumbledore couldn't find a sufficient replacement for the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher and was forced to give the place to Snape - whom he now trusted to remain on the correct side.
Horace Slughorn became the potions master.
He killed Albus Dumbledore.
He was the Headmaster in 1997/98 and as such he was not supposed the teach.
Albus Dumbledore thought it would bring back his love for the Dark Arts.
He preferred Defence Against the Dark Arts to Potions.
Severus Snape asked Lord Voldemort to spare Lily Potter because he loved Lily and didn't want her to die. Dumbledore was disgusted that he didn't care about James or Harry.
Lord Voldemort believes that Snape is the true master of the Elder Wand because Snape killed Dumbledore. In order to gain the wand's allegiance, he kills Snape. However, Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore before that, so Snape had never been the true master.
Harry allowed himself to be hit with the killing curse because he had found out he was the seventh Horcrux, the one Voldemort had created without knowing. He knew this was the only way to defeat Voldemort for good and save all of his friends. After he was hit with the curse he fell unconcious and found himself in King's Cross station, where he found Dumbledore and the Horcrux that had been destroyed (the baby-like thing). He did not die .
He died when Severus Snape used Avada Kedavra on him in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It turned out that Snape killed Dumbledore upon Dumbledore's request. Dumbledore did not want Lord Voldemort to gain power of the Elder Wand, so he had a man that he trusted kill him so that Dumbledore would be the last true master of the wand.Snape had been Dumbledore's man ever since Voldemort threatened Lily Evans life. Snape then begged Dumbledore to help protect her. In return Snape was to suggest to Voldemort that he pretend to join the Order of the Phoenix as a spy, in reality he was spying on the Death Eaters for the Order and only passing on select information to Voldemort. He was killed by snape under the orders of both voldemort and dumbeldore himself. He then fell over a hundred. Feet off the highest tower at hogwarts.
Dumbledore put a cursed ring on his hand which would have killed him had Snape not stopped it. Snape told Dumbledore he only had about a year left to live and Dumbledore knew that Voldemort was plotting his death but didn't want Draco Malfoy's soul to be damaged by this. He also knew that Voldemort would want the Elder wand and that Snape needed to keep convincing Voldemort he was on his side. So, Dumbledore told Snape to kill him which meant Voldemort trusted him, Draco kept his soul intact and Dumbledore died as the last true owner of the Elder wand - although because Draco disarmed him before he died that part of the plan didn't work. Also because Dumbledore says that he would rather be killed by Snape than one of the other Death-Eaters, such as Belatrix Lestrange who, as Dumbledore put it 'like to play with their food'. Snape also made an unbreakable vow to Narcissa (or Cissy) Malfoy, to help Draco in his deed set by 'The Dark Lord', and if it should seem Draco would fail, he commit the deed himself. (The deed being to kill Albus Dumbledore)
cause dumbledor wanted snape to kill him
Severus Snape's father was a muggle and he always fought with Snape's mother. This led to Snape hating his father and therefore muggles. So he believed what Lord Voldemort believed and signed up to help him.
only if you want him to
Severus Snape asked Lord Voldemort to spare Lily Potter because he loved Lily and didn't want her to die. Dumbledore was disgusted that he didn't care about James or Harry.
He wants to kill him so he could be the "master of the elder wand" (except for the fact that Snape was not ever the master of the elder wand....)
well he did want to be a death eater in the beginning until Voldemort killed lily potter.
Snape doesn't want or need to get the Philosophers Stone, he is one of the staff protecting it Professor Quirrell wants the stone for his master (Lord Voldemort) He is sharing his body with Lord Voldemort.
Cursus are found for an instance in Harry Potter Severus Snape inventesd the Sectumsempra curse
I'll name one; people can discuss if they want: Sectumsempra; invented by, non-the-less, Severus Snape.
Lord Voldemort believes that Snape is the true master of the Elder Wand because Snape killed Dumbledore. In order to gain the wand's allegiance, he kills Snape. However, Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore before that, so Snape had never been the true master.
No. Harry Potter always hated Severus Snape but during the Battle of Hogwarts he witnesses Snape's memories and learns that he was in love with Harry's mother and because of that helped keep Harry alive and helped the Order. After this, Harry calls his son Albus Severus after the the two bravest men he ever knew proving he at least had some respect for him.
He thought Severus Snape was threatening Quirinius Quirrell to help him steal the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone. He overheard Quirrell in a room by himself talking to Voldemort, but he thought it was Snape. He also saw, while riding his broomstick, Snape and Quirrell in the Forbidden Forest. In the movie, after fleeing the library, Harry saw Snape back Quirrell up against a wall and threaten him that he "doesn't want him as an enemy" before Filch interrupted them with the information that a student is out of bed. This was the scene where Snape probes the air with his hand in the direction of where Harry is under the Invisibility Cloak. It is just before he discovers the Mirror of Erised in the first movie.
