Parthia was an ancient region located in northeastern Persia, primarily in what is now northeastern Iran. It was part of the larger Parthian Empire, which flourished from the 3rd century BCE to the 3rd century CE. Parthia served as a significant cultural and political center, playing a crucial role in trade along the Silk Road and in the conflicts between the Roman Empire and Persia. Its capital was Ctesiphon, situated near the Tigris River.
