Yes, there is lots of evidence to prove that it is infact true. For instance, the way South America and Africa fit together like a jigsaw piece. Also, the fact that these two continents have identical fossil and geological records.
This is a 15 year old answering the question, so I would appreciate it if people didn't criticise my answer...
Yes, because of the shape of the different continents and plus, there were traces of an distinct animal fossil found on the south American and Australian Continent, this shows that the animal remains could have been "spread out" through Continental drift. :)
yes
hypothesis
It is an idea, which the person setting out the hypothesis may believe is true.
People thought he was crazy and not very smart but he proved them. He found a way.
False- The hypothesis is your prediction of what you expect to happen. If the data does not agree with your hypothesis you simply explain why your hypothesis did not come true and possibly investigate variable which would allow your hypothesis to come true.
The scientists that found the fossils found that were found on different continents. Some of the same fossil were located on each Continent that could only survive in one climate. Therefore, a fossil provided some evidence for the continental drift to be true.
yes
true
Yes and no. His hypothesis about how the plates were moved eventually was proven wrong, although his hypothesis that the plates had shifted in position over time was proven. The physical evidence in support of continental drift (now referred to as the theory of plate tectonics) began to be considered overwhelming back in the 1960s, with the discovery of the mid-ocean ridges and the accompanying paleomagnetic striping along the sea floor which has recorded magnetic reversals in newly formed crustal rock. More recently, we have measured the rates of motion of each of the continental plates using GPS satellite technology. The fact the plates drift is now indisputable.
yes its true
no it was in 1982
Continental Drift is an obsolete name for the theory of Plate Tectonics and yes, it is true. It has been proved in many ways, by comparing the composition of oceanic crust and its ages with that of the continental crust, by plotting the reversals of magnetism in the oceanic crust and many other ways.
That would be Alfred Wegener.yah! it's true ALFRED L. WEGENER [1880-1930] who first proposed the CONTINENTAL DRIFT IN 1912. obejerojamjam@yahoo.com :))
I believe this is true. I believe smiling is contagious.
hypothesis
True. This is all because of continental drift
