some people are obligated to register for it, but there is no military draft right now

they could vote in many states but not all of them

prevent poor african americans from voting

i know who is running for the senate in my state

i try to read a variety of news sources

i read the local newspaper every day to learn about important issues

a citizen voters in a local election

a citizen researches the candidates running for office

a citizen emails for congressional representative about an important issue

people for the ethical treatment of animals

the national association for the advancement of colored people

print posters and campaign materials

they can be part of a community of like- minded citizens

volunteering for a political campaign

engaging in civil disobedience

It makes the political process more democratic by having citizens voice their concerns.
