Yes, and No. To be considered "anorexic", there are many factors. Some of those involve heavy restricting of food and drinks and calories. Others involve physical conditions and symptoms (dry skin, organ problems / damage, heart issues, fragile / brtiile hair, discolored nails, ect.), excessive exercsie, and mental problems. Eating 500 calories a day, though, is very unhealthy. That is about 1,000 to 1,500 LESS calories than a person should be eating in a day.

eating disorders Anorexia is considered to be an eating disorder. It can also fall under some other catergories, like a "condition", "mental disorder", "emotional disorder", and a "physical disorder". It depends possibly on the cause (depression, BDD, media, ect.) and also who you ask, as some doctors / people only believe it is a certain type of condition, and not another.

How fast can you lose weight by eating 500 calories or less per day?

If you eat 500 calories a day, or less, you may be condsidered anorexic. That is completely un-healthy and even if you were to lose weight, you would instantly gain it back once you ate regular again...and you would have to eventually eat regular again if you want to live, because eating 500 calories or less is starving yourself to death.

Eating fewer calories may HELP you loose weight but getting real results doesn't mean that excersice isn't part of the plan. In order to loose weight easily, excsercise 500 calories from your daily intake and eat more nutrishous meals. Remember, eating meals that may have less calories doesn't mean they aren't high in fat.

Is it safe to lose 500 to 1000 calories from your recommended daily allowance?

It can be simple but it should be eased into and not rushed into so you cannot just jump down these calories in one day if you are so used to eating over 2000 calories normally.

Does exercise make you lose weight?

Kinda-sorta. To lose weight you need to be using up more calories than you're eating, and that's pretty much it. While exercise will make you use up more calories, weight loss or not still depends on how many calories you're eating. Let's say you're eating 1000 calories more than you need (that's easy, it's like two cupcakes and coffee), and you're using up 500 calories through exercise. That'll still put you 500 cals more than you need, and you'll keep gaining weigh - only a bit slower now. But maybe your eating is only a little wrong - say 100 calories more than you need. Now, 500 calories worth of exercise will be the same as 400 cals of weight loss. Nothing you'd see in a day, but give it some weeks and there'll be a difference.
