The stomach digests food by mixing it with stomach acid and enzymes, breaking it down into smaller molecules. These molecules are then absorbed through the stomach lining into the bloodstream to be used by the body for energy and growth.
It is digested by the acids in your stomach and then moved to your small intestine. In the small intestine the broken down food is carried into your bloodstream. The bigger food molecules move to your big intestines where the indigestible food molecules get their water absorbed by the larg intestine. After all that, it comes out as faeces.
Acid breaks the food from big molecules to small, tiny molecules so that small intestine can easily digest it.
food isn't exactly broken into molecules. molecules are collections of atoms. those would be too small to see. but food is broken down so the nutrients can be gathered. the food is broken down in the stomach, then, the food goes through the intestines where the nutrients and water are gathered
