Yes, people with anorexia eat, but they limit calories, and as a recovering anorexic, I use to only eat once a day, one food item and then fast for 24 hours before I'd eat again. Anorexics are very much in their head and plan and devise things before; counting calories and deficiencies. Too many people think anorexia is about just 'loosing weight', but the truth is its all physiological. People with anorexia can often try to hydrate themselves to get rid of water weight, and this often (in my case anyway) leads to a potassium deficiency, because every time you go to the bathroom you lose potassium.
I was anorexic last year and I ate very little. I used to eat nothing for breakfast, maybe half a sandwich at lunch which contained no butter and just a little bit of lettuce. For dinner I would have whatever my mum made but would throw nearly all of it away after taking a few little bites without her knowing as she would watch TV in the living room whilst I was in the kitchen. As it continued I gradually decreased what I ate and soon only nibble TINY amounts throughout the day.. consuming not even 100 calories. When I was anorexic, I went down to 70 pounds from around 120.
I have suffered anorexia for years and at my worst point before I got taken to hospital, I survived on Chewing Gum and coffee not much else, I was close to death. In studies of people with anorexia nervosa approximately half of those in in-patient wards (like the hospital described) were found to have histories of sexual abuse. This doesn't account for anorexics who do not attend psych wards for their illness, as those with histories of sexual abuse tend to have more serious psychological symptoms and other illnesses, and therefore are more likely to be hospitalized. Anyway, yes, anorexics eat, but very very little. They tend to avoid eating in front of others if possible, and break up food to either make it easier to manage, or to make it look like they have eaten more than they actually have.
Depending on the serverity of the case, yes and no. Extreme forms of anorexics will eat next to nothing. Some will eat food, and throw up (binging / purging), though that is often referred to as bulimia. Others will eat little food, or just eat low-cal foods.
Anorexics tend to drink a great deal of water, as it is effective at staving off hunger.
Water has no caloric content, and does not cause weight gain (other than the physical weight of the water itself).
Not really, they just eat enough to sustain themselves, but their main objective is not to eat at all, but everyone has to eat a bit right?
they cant retain food so they drink water in its place
Often they do, yes.
Its only water, they only drink water.
yes. it turns darker if you drink only water
only 1% of all the water on earth can living creatures drink. Only about 3% of earths water is fresh water at all!!!!
No!
Only the tap water; bottled water is safe to drink.
Water is the only drink of the giant panda.
They only have to drink 69 times a year
About 1 in every 200 people is bulimic or has some bulimic tendencies.
they only like water
When people are bulimic, they get sores near the sides of their mouth from the stomach acid and they actually get fatter because they are retaining water. When the sores go away and the bloating stops you know they aren't bulimic anymore.
water and only water, dogs arnt meant to drink any other fluids
