No. The difficult terrain would limit their deployment; historically what has worked best for Mexico is guerrilla tactics. Mexican armed forces use armored vehicles like the ERC-90 LYNX, or older versions of medium-sized tanks such as the M32 Chenca, which has a M4-Sherman chassis.

There was an urban legend stating that Mexico would acquire heavy tanks such as the American M1-Abrams or Russian T-90s, but these would have a very limited use to urban centers, as most of Mexico has a rather hilly terrain.
