Why did you decide to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki during world war 2?

US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki because they wanted to convince Japan to surrender fromg WW2. Also because during the war, Japan wasnt affected a lot compared to other places that joined the war. are you serious? I'm sure the Japanese people of the major industrial cities tend to disagree with this they were firebombed for months, Tokyo and Osaka were ashbowls. the real reason Nagasaki was bombed was because it was overcast in Kokura the original target. in actual fact, the Japanese, through the soviet union, tried to conditionally surrender in June 1945, a full 2 months before the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. the condition they wanted was that the emperor was to remain head of state and to retain its home islands. America flatly refused the offer and instead chose to continue the war a further two months, until japan unconditionally surrendered. an interesting footnote should be that upon signing the unconditional surrender japan was allowed to retain its emperor and retain its home islands.

What US action influenced the Japanese decision to attack the US in 1941?

Japan was at war with China. Despite being a military superpower, their war with China was using up their resources. During that time, most of their resources especially oil were coming from the US. The US did not approve of Japanese aggression in China and they declared an embargo on Japan. This means they would stop supplying Japan with raw materials. So where would Japan get their resources to continue the war now? The Japanese High Command carefully discussed this and came up with the conclusion that the Dutch East Indies would be the best place to gain resources. But they knew that an attack on the Dutch East Indies would probably bring the US into the war. So they had to find a way to prevent the US from fighting with them until they conquered the Dutch East Indies. That's when they planned Pearl Harbor. The goal of Pearl Harbor was to disable the American fleet for a few months to give them enough time to conquer the Dutch East Indies and to absorb its resources to finance their war in China and the US once the US' navy was rebuilt. Was japan an ally with US during World War 1?

Yes, technically it was. Japan allied with Britain in 1902, and when World War I broke out in 1914, Japan offered to join the war if they could keep the German colonies in the Pacific and China. Japan subsequently captured those German colonies. Interestingly, Japan and the US were already having diplomatic issues regarding China (Japan wanted to conquer parts of it, and actually already had taken Taiwan), so when the US joined the war in 1917, the two countries had to come to an agreement to not use the war to force new concessions on China (which Japan wound up doing anyway).

Why did Japan increased its military?

Japan was on the Soviet border line. In order to help the US defend the world against communism, Japan had to build up it's forces to help out, just in case an ally was needed. In addition, Japan was maintaining US Bases and war machinery based in Japan; US Tanks, Warships, Jet Aircraft, weapons, etc. Japan had to build and re-build those machines of war in support of the US's role in it's fight against communism.

What country does the US export war machinery to?

Up until the end of the cold war; any strategically friendly nation.
