How many germans died after World War 2?

From The Oxford Companion to World War II. At least I think that is the name of the book. Anyway it is the total death toll. I have seen another chart like this on either the National Archives or The US Army Museum site. I researched for this answer. I could not find any record of Jews killing Germans in revenge. It is doubtful they were capable of doing that. They were emaciated, sick and had no weapons. Those that had hidden and were freed did not have weapons. The Allies had rounded up the Nazis. The Jews had their revenge by witnessing at the Nuremberg trials against all levels of Nazis.

There are a few stories circulating about this but it is unclear whether they are in any sense reliable. The number of Germans allegedly killed in revenge after the end of the war runs to about 200 in these unsubstantiated stories. Most survivors had completely different concerns when it was over: they wanted to regain their health and start a fresh life, not kill.
