Aside from the effects of actually fighting a major war, some of which were temporary but would affect later culture, gas and other rationing, suspension of various constitutional rights, etc, I think there are at least three things that happened that had a major impact. First was the end of true isolationism, the US was a world power, immediately after the war the ONLY world power, the general feeling was that the US could no longer take an interest only in near by events that had an immediate and direct effect on us. That was to lead to or at least facilitate our involvement in Korea, Viet Nam, Somalia, the Balkans, Iran, etc.
Another effect was the Civil Rights Movement. We had just fought a war against foes who believed they were of superior races, especially so in the case of the Nazis, a great deal of US Propaganda stressed that we were fighting a war for democracy and against racism and the idea that there was an "inferior race." Yet we had Federal Laws that said that there was an inferior race. Americans of African heritage had always been especially segregated from society, as had others, and during the war American citizens of Japanese heritage had actually been shipped off to what can only be described as concentration camps.
The military, desperate for manpower, used people of these "inferior races" but in segregated units. Those units became some of the most decorated and respected in the war.The all "Japanese" 442 Regiment is still the most highly decorated unit in history. They showed that not only could they fight they could fight better than the "superior race" and did it in spite of the treatment they had received in the past and while they were fighting. On the home front the people who had previously had the abilities to be only janitors or gardeners showed that they could build highly complex machines as well as their "superiors." After those people had fully contributed in the victory of democracy over racism were they now expected to return to there seats in the back of the bus?
The third effect was that women could fill more roles than housewife, teacher, secretary, or nurse. Rosy the Riveter and Suzy Stevedore could do hard physical labor as well as a man could. When male supervisors and executives went off to war, women showed that they had smarts too. GI Joe might have expected to come home to the little woman baking biscuits while he went back to work, the little woman was thrilled that he was back and was glad to bake the biscuits, but she let him know that she could go out and bring back the bacon to go with them.
One major new aspect of American culture that emerged after the Revolutionary War was nationalism. Before the war, the colonies were fragmented in their allegiances. After the victory in the war, most Americans were proud to part of the new nation.

Yes, like slavery, American songs were affected in such a way that possible subjects could directly involve the war like protest songs or maybe soldiers returning from the war singing about the hardships of the time.
The six million Jews who were murdered and the 71 milion people who died in World War 2 were the most affected by World War 2. The Yanamamo Indians living in the Amazon forest in Brazil were the least affected because they probably never even knew there was a war.
