Bible DictionaryTenth deal definitionthe tenth part of an ephah (as in the R.V.), equal to an omer or six pints.
In the Bible, specifically in Leviticus 2:1, a "deal of flour" refers to a quantity used in grain offerings. Two tenths of an ephah is equivalent to approximately 2.2 liters or about 2.3 quarts of flour. This measurement reflects a specific portion for offerings in ancient Hebrew rituals.
1 cup of all purpose flour is 125 grams. 240 grams of flour is 1.92 cups. However, because cups measure volume and grams measure mass this measurement will change based on what you are measuring.
That depends upon the substance and its density. cups are a measure of volume grams are a measure of weight. 1 cup of flour can have different weights depending how much the flour is packed into the cup measure - the firmer it is packed in, the greater its density and the more it weighs.
For dry goods, ounces are a measure of weight, and cups are a measure of volume. For all purpose flour, one cup = 4.5 ounces, so 12 ounces of flour are equal to approximately 2.6 cups.
