Off the top of my head... I don't know whether this was WW1 or WW2, but I think it was Italy. == Italy. Also, you might say Russia as they changed their government over to Communist. There was at least on aviator who changed sides: Paul V. d'Argueeff. d'Argueeff was born at Yalta and was 27 years old at the start of WW1 and a Lt.-Colonel in the Russian Army. For some unknown reason he left Russian and joined the French army. By 1915 he was severly wounded and released from service. However as soon as he returned to Russia, he was re-admitted into the Russian Army where he began taking flying lessons in a nearby air field. Eventually he was assigned to a squadron and ranked up 5 or 6 kills to his credit.
Then the Russian revolution began, so back to France he returned and was soon flying in a French Spad squadron. It wasn't long until he was wounded again and was told to be discharged. But soon he was back in the cockpit where he flew almost every day, weather permitting, during October 1918. He ended his WW1 career with 15 victories, the Legion of Honor and 9th Palm to his Croix de Guerre.

china
In world war 1 the central powers were Germany, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman empire. Italy was part of that alliance but because it switched sides before the name changed from the triple alliance to the central powers it is generally not considered a central power.
Russia suffered the greatest loss of life during World War I. There were thousands of casualties on all sides suffered during the war.
Italy
Italy was in the Triple Allince but then switched to fight with Russia, Britain and France and dont forget the U.S.
Italy
Italy was the only country to switch sides at the very beginning. Bulgaria and Russia switched sides late into the war.
Russia traded sides because Germany broke their treaty agreement and invaded. They switched to the Allies.
I believe the question might be referring to Russia, who "switched sides" midway so to speak.
The nations that switched sides were Russia, , Britain, France, Germany and Austria-Hungary
Yes
During World War I, no countries actively supported both sides of the conflict at any time; that is, no country switched sides at some point during the war. While Italy began the war as a "paper ally" of the Central Powers, it did not actively contribute military assistance of any kind to their cause. In 1915, it became a combatant on the side of the Triple Alliance.
Romania is an example.
Italy
Yes, they switched sides when Germany atacked them.
