An army. Smaller units may be called a Company or a Batallion.
It is when a soldier transfers from one unit or batallion to another within the same installation (military base).
Usually any army in the world is based on the organisation of a Batallion and then the Batallion comprising of 3 or 4 companies. Maximum the number of companies may go upto 6. Beyond this it may become slightly cumbersome for the Batallion Commander to manage or command his companies. Typically companies get named A, B, C, D etc and so on therefore the alphabet "J" lying 10th in the order of merit of Alphabets never gets to come out onto the scene. This is not the best answer and many organizations go beyond four companies; please see the discussion to help formulate a better answer.
