Austria-Hungary

I would like to improve the first answer as follows.

Since Austria was "absorbed" by Germany in 1938, it was no more an independent Country, but a part of Grossdeutschland (The Great Germany) so that it cannot be considered as an allied Country.

Thus, the Hungary was the only Country allied with Germany in both wars.

To further clarify the matter, we must say that, at the outbreak of WW1, Austria-Hungary was the union of Austrian Empire and Reign of Hungary. The sovereign of Austria, Francis Joseph's title was Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary. That union was dissolved after the end of the war.

Appeasement in a sentence?

The term "appeasement", meaning "diplomatic action which makes concessions to aggressor-nations", may be used in various ways in a sentence. One example is as follows: "In 1938, appeasement was the key to Great Britain's relation with Germany; however, in 1939, the key became war."

What is Appeasement and how Germany used it to gain power?

appeasement: the policy of avoiding disagreement by accepting an enemy's demands how Germany used it: at the start of WWII, Hitler "tested the waters" by taking little bits of land that he was not supposed to take. using appeasement, the enemies of Germany let him have the land so the could avoid a war (which obviously didnt work) and so Hitler kept taking more and more land and eventually he got so powerful that we couldn't stop him for a long time. =D hope this helped.

What are two reasons used to explain why appeasement was logical at time?

Appeasement was viewed as logical at the time for two main reasons. First, many leaders believed that the harsh terms imposed on Germany after World War I created economic and political instability, leading to the rise of extremist movements; appeasement was seen as a way to restore peace and stability in Europe. Second, the fear of another large-scale war made countries like Britain and France reluctant to confront aggressive actions by Germany, as they were still recovering from the devastation of World War I and hoped to avoid conflict through negotiation and concessions.

Why did Britain follow a policy of appeasement?

Britain exercised a policy of appeasement with Hitler because initially, his demands were reasonable. The belief was that if appeasement was used, he would eventually become satisfied and stop his aggression.
