The costs and benefits from Imperialism in Africa were unevenly distributed across the continent. The European's built roads and railroads, this served the African products available for the world market. Then they built cities and crowded and unsanity grew, so they gave them medicine to help the people live longer. Pretty soon the crop cultivation contributed to malnutrition among the African people. Some African individuals and groups did benefit because of profits that they earned from the rubber trade and helped finance the cultivation of cocoa plants.
