They are the first civilizations but were not as advanced as this group. What made them so special is they discovered writing which historians can follow.
There are others like the people of the indus valleyin modern day Iran caled the shoosh people but were they actually and civilization. I gueus that depends on what you call a civilization.

The Indus Vally was a very early civilization but it was not the 1st, there were civilizations during pre-history many many thousands of years ago. The first civilizations that we have proof of are the ones who settled between the Tigris and Euphrates river; Mesopotamia (in modern day Iraq). Virtually every civilization that has existed has an end of world philosophy. Most scientists know that an end of our world (as we know it) is inevitable. So to assume end of world beliefs are a hoax may be incorrect.
