Please excuse the answer to the question that another user posted above. Though they may have once lived in Chicago, they obviously did not attend a school that had maps or English classes to learn the physical layout of the city where they lived, or the proper spelling of the word "yeah". The RIVER is the Chicago River and it runs THROUGH the city of Chicago, emptying out into Lake Michigan. If Chicago were "in" the Lake as suggested by the other user, then the 2,896,016 people who live there would be under water and, I dare say, in big trouble. The city of Chicago was built on the western shore OF lake Michigan. Details people, details. And this year (2011) the river was dyed green on March 12th.
