Mango worms, also known as mango flies or Cordylobia anthropophaga, are primarily found in tropical regions of Africa, particularly in countries like Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. These parasitic larvae infest the skin of mammals, including humans, and are often associated with poor hygiene conditions and exposure to infested environments. They are typically found in areas where animals, such as dogs or rodents, serve as hosts for the adult flies.
Mango worms come from the eggs of the mango fly, which are usually found in soil or on the skin of animals. To prevent mango worms, it is important to avoid contact with infested soil or animals, and to maintain good hygiene practices such as regular bathing and cleaning of living spaces.
