Job was indeed oriental. He was a descendant of Shem ( one of Noah's three sons of whom all races are derived). History shows that the eastern part of the globe is where humanity had it's start. The areas of early population by Noah's sons would include Africa (where Hams descendants settled) Europe (where Japheth's descendants settled) and Asia (where Shem's descendants settled). Of course there were some overlapping of the "cousins". These were early civilizations and blood ties were much stronger then so the different features, which are more prominent now, may have not been as prominent then. Job was a distant nephew of Abraham.......and no, Abraham was not oriental as he was born in what is now part of Africa. Genesis 10:22,23 shows that Uz was a descendant of Shem. Job lived in the land of Uz, which is where Uz's descendants settled. The scriptures refer to this as " the land of the east". When God had Abraham "touring'' the land he was going to inherit. That also included lands in Asia. His son Jacob went to West Asia to get a wife ( Leah and then Rachel) Yes, they both were Orientals. They were daughters of Laban the Syrian (Genesis 28:5). Syria is a part of West Asia. So this was Job's family and also his heritage. Contrary to popular beliefs, the Hebrews and the Orientals are cousins.......as we are all related.
