If it looks to good to be true, then it is. You work at a legitimate job using your knowledge and skills in return for a paycheck. Information about working from home plus legitimate business opportunities, listing of companies that hire "live ops", telecommuters, etc is at Work At Home Moms - wahm.com from other contributors:

* I agree with the above person about Live Ops and wahm.com. I wanted to work at home and I didn't want to sell anything. So, I decided to find a career that is done at home traditionally and I came across medical transcription. As I researched it, I realized that most MTs do work at home, there are a lot of jobs available, and the income "can" be good if you work hard. I chose a top school- MT Advantage Career Center to get my training, and I now work at home and love it. Now, having said that, it's not easy. Learning MT was the HARDEST thing I've EVER done. The first few months out of school, you wonder why you ever went into it because you are so slow. However, after a few months, you see it paying off. Most average MTs make $18-$20 an hour, which is very good money when you are not commuting. I never run out of work. There are pros and cons w/ any profession but this sure beats working out of the home and I don't have to sell anything and alienate all my friends and family, * Of the at-home jobs that are available on the 'net, 95% of them are scams. I've been cheated twice. One way to differentiate these scammers from the genuine ones is: NEVER PAY ANYONE ANYTHING AT ALL FOR A JOB, NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING THEY MAY SOUND. This method has worked very well for me. Now I work for a very famous company. You could call them one of the empires of internet. I have not paid them anything at all. This, I believe, is the sign of a genuine job. Also, reputed companies won't try fraud, as their reputation can be at risk.
