Back in time before the Independence of Pakistan and India when Barr-e-Sager was still under the British rule there was a revolutionary case that changed the history. An intelligent lawyer made a convict escape the death penalty. Muslim Independence Leader Quiad-e-Azam "Muhammad Ali Jinnah" who was also a successful politician and statesman along with being an exceptional lawyer, advocated a case where his Defendant was guilty of a crime and was falsely sentenced "To Be Hanged".
Even though he lost the case in the court he didn't give up. However, after the punishment was announced and the date was set Muhammad Ali Jinnah was still comfortable with the outcome of the case.
On the Punishment day, Muhammad was present at the Sentence scene and right when the defendant's head was put in the rope and the lever was pulled, authorities stopped the hanging on Mohammad's command. The convict was alive and walked alive from the scene. He stated that the Penalty was "To Be Hanged" therefore as soon as the person is left with the rope around is neck and has started to be hanged the punishment was complete and the sentence requirements were fully met, According to him there was no mention of Death or to be killed in the sentence.
This argument was effective and simply could not be over ruled.Authorities took notice of it and it changed the British charter along with the other nation's. The words "Till death" were added and from this point on in the future the Death Penalty always stated "To Be Hanged Till Death" thanks to the revolutionary intelligent lawyer Muhammad Ali Jinnah
