I had never heard of MediaGet before, but after a quick search it looks like it's basically BitTorrent-compatible software.
The software itself is legal. The use to which you put it may not be. If you're downloading freely distributable stuff then that's fine. If you're downloading copyright protected stuff then THAT might be illegal, but it's not the software that's illegal, it's what you're doing with it.
