On some of them it is right on the deck.
But the one that is usually hard to find is the half circle wire that hooks around the axle then you hook the spring to it.
Hope this helps.
Remove the deck. First by pulling the pins that attach the lift brackets, and then remove the rear spring, and the 2 belt guides under the engine for the belt that drives the deck (1/4" socket). After the deck is out, release the spring that applies tention on the right idler pulley (you'll have to remove the 2 side pulley covers).
Near the top of the belt there is a belt tensioner; it has a pulley attached to it. It is spring loaded and there is a provision to attach a breaker bar to force back the spring; once you do, it is easy to remove the serpentine belt.
The belt need to be replace to a new oneor check the tention of the belt.
the tention pulley bolt is not stuck. It is supposed to be that way take a 1/2 " or 3/4 rachet or breaker bar and put it in the square hole and use the breaker bar to get leverage to move the tention bar so that tention is off the belt to rmove belt and do the same to install belt
having trouble with belt tention ?
The diagram is under the hood. Pull tentioner to release tention remove belt/ replace
Belt is stretched or the tension pulley
its on top of the engine in the center, there are two bults that hold it on, reduse tention on the belt tentioner to get the belt off it
First, get a new serpentine belt. There is a de-tensioning wrench that you can borrow from Kragen Auto Parts, or Pep Boys. This wrench is at least 3 feet long, and you attach it to your alternator's back end, which has a bar-metal spring tensioner. The wrench bends back this tensioner spring, which allows you to remove the old belt, and put in the new belt.
There should be a belt tensioner pulley that is able to slide back and forth to tention the belt. Loosen that fully then take the belt off that will also be the same for the alternator if it is a V-belt Drive. if it is a serpentine belt the one belt will release the pressure from All the Pulley's.
The fan belt cannot be tightened. The scenic has a tention pulley that automatically adjusts the belt. If the belt is slack, it is either the wrong size or it is stretched and needs to be replaced immediately as serious damage can occur in the event that the belt should slip off.
There is a diagram on the hood, to remove the belt look to the left behind the strut tower. There is a tentioner there and you release the tention by moving it with a wrench or socket.
