Shetland Sheepdogs are prone to most of the illnesses that effect the majority of dog breeds. They are, however, especially vulnerable to Heart disease, Allergies, luxating patellas, seizures, low thyroid, and eye and hip problems. They are generally a healthy breed of dog so the likelihood of one having more than two or three of these health conditions is relatively rare.
