It can't be said often enough: Vaccinate your dog. That's what has kept this horrible disease under control for decades in the U.S. and Canada (unlike South America, Asia, and Africa, where there were more than 35,000 human deaths from rabies just last year). Your pup should be vaccinated the first time at three or four months of age, and then get a yearly booster shot without fail.

Hello go get life
if not immediately treated, the person is not expected to live for more than a couple days of contracting rabies. it is almost always fatal if not treated.
The incubation period for rabies in dogs typically ranges from 10 days to several months, depending on factors like the location of the bite and the amount of virus introduced. Symptoms may start to appear as early as 10 days post-bite but can take much longer in some cases. Once symptoms develop, the disease progresses rapidly, often leading to death within a few days to weeks. Prompt veterinary attention after a bite is crucial for preventing the onset of rabies.
6 shots given over 30 days
im no expert for rabies so DO NOT TAKE THIS EXTREMELY. After getting bite a grown dog, it will take 1~2 days(untill death). But dogs has a ver less chance of having rabies, so there is a great chance of that person not dying.
Man to man spread is very rare with rabies. Never the less, one case is reported in 1984 in with the child with rabies had bitten his father. Child died and after few days the father also died of rabies.
Rabies is transmitted through the salvia. If a cat has rabies, he can infect you with it. If a person is bitten or scratched by a cat with rabies, they have the possibility of getting rabies. An animal with rabies can show several symptoms. It can be disoriented, dumb looking, vicious, tired, foaming at the mouth, and/or unable to swallow. The only way to check for rabies is to send the head of the animal off for brain biopsy. For humans there is no test. If you are bitten or scratched by a rabies animal, go get rabies shots immediately.
Scientifically speaking i think the first vaccine of anti-rabies should be given maximum seven days after the bite but that may differ from person to person. It's best if you get it checked out as soon as possible as rabies can be fatal.
rabies is cased when a human has the rabid animal's siliva tranfered into his\her body. even if a human has a ingury such as a cut and the rabid animal's silava comes into the body they will have rabies. if you are bitten by a pet take him to a professinal to be looked at for 10 days, if the bit more serious then more likely 1 month. if bitten by a wild animal also have the animal exammend, stay safe!
It used to be that a rabies vaccination had to be given to the abdomen after someone was bitten by an animal though to have rabies. This was because the gut was where the virus was thought to replicate. Now days, the vaccine no longer has to be given in the abdomen.
Yes, rabies can kill humans. Rabies, in humans, causes a fear of water = dehydration, it can also give you a high fever and massive headaches. If yo die from Rabies, it is hard to figure out what killed you, it takes multiple tests and dissections to rule out that the cause is rabies. It can be treated though. You will need to get 100 shots (I'm not kidding either) an average of 4 people die each year from rabies.
I have been bitten by our 3-month old chihuahua who just have been vaccinated on the same day as it has bitten me. The bite was petty but my pet's bite was strong enough to make my skin bleed. It has been 6 days since the incident happened.
