Major battle areas of World War 2A broad answer to your question would be to say all of continental Europe (with the exception of Spain, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland), the northern part of Africa, central and east Asia, the Pacific, and the Mediterranean. The Atlantic Ocean, from Greenland down to South America, was a major area of naval combat but no land masses were involved. There were also troop battles in the Aleutian Islands (off the coast of Alaska) between Japan and the United States.

Most happend here in Europe and Asia, but the biggest battles were in Europe, such as the battle of Stalingrad, Diep, Paris, Normandy Beach, the Bulge, Berlin and many many more. In Asia it was battles mostly in Burma and Philippines and the Solomon Islands. The famous naval battle of Midway was of the coast of Asia, but there were also huge battles in North Africa such as the battle of El-Alamein.
In WWII, most of the fighting took place in Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
