Yes indeed. USA went to war after Pearl Harbour, and thereby took on the Germans 1942. However it would take some years before the D-day when British,Canadian and US troops (among others) landed at Normandie, the french west coast.

From that day and on, the Americans where at war with Hitler.

Four days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hitler declared war on the US. Although he had promised to do this if Japan and the US were at war, Hitler did not have to help Japan at all. Japan and Germany were bad allies with on another. Hitler never told Japan he was going to attack the USSR and the Japanese did not warn Hitler about Pearl Harbor. Also, Japan kept its agreement with Stalin not to make war with each other. This led to a complicated situation. Stalin was allied with the US against Hitler, but would not attack the US's enemy Japan.

Irregardless, Hitler only hastened his defeat by causing the US to declare war against Nazi Germany.

US forces in Europe would cause the end of Nazi Germany.
