I'm going to take your answer through 1941 because the answer would pretty much the same. you ask about "military results up until 1941" so I would take this to mean your stopping point is 12/31/40. Not much changes for the Allies a year later.
For the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, Japan) 1941 was a very successful year. All 3 countries reached the peak of their power. Germany had invaded Russia and now controlled all of Europe from the France/Spain border to the European part of the Soviet Union. Italy was strong in North Africa. Japan was a later comer to the Axis powers (only joined in SEP1940) and had only started military action in the Pacifice in DEC1941 but had already (as of 12/31/41) attacked Hawaii, taken Guam, Wake, Philippine Islands and Hong Kong along with threating Australia. The Axis powers neared the height of their conquests in DEC1941.
For the Allies, it was disaster after disaster. France had been knocked out the war in JUNE1940, Britain had survivied the Battle of Britain was in no shape to help out the Soviet Union which the European part of the USSR had been attacked and occupied by Germany. There was also little Great Britain could do to stop the Italian drive in North Africa. The US had only been in the war less than a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor and was still recovering from that.
