Now this is what happens when people attempt to "politically correct" history; by calling North Vietnam, as one exaggerated example: the "Peoples Republic Democratic Liberation Society of the Vietnamese People." If that's exaggerated, then rest assured that that's exactly what it sounds like to the average Western person. President Nixon, Henry Kissinger, the US Army, US Marine Corps, etc., and all Americans called North Vietnam...North Vietnam (except in official written correspondence...etc. etc.)...South Vietnam was the "RVN" (Republic of South Vietnam) but everyone called it South Vietnam.

The Republicans & Democrats are in the US of A.

NORTH VIETNAM was a COMMUNIST country. Communism is neither Democrat nor Republican.

The Viet War was about fighting communism. Northern communist aggression invading the Republic of South Vietnam. RVN was not a communist country.

If you never declare war why do you call it a war?

Very good question! War is defined as a state of hostility, conflict, or antagonism, as well as a state of usually open and declared armed hostile conflict between two states or nations. Technically, for the United States at least, a war is not considered a war unless it has been declared by congress. Hence, why we refer to the war in Vietnam as the "Vietnam Conflict". But regardless of congress officially declaring so or not, war is war.
