yes: The Zimmerman telegram's message was basically "If Mexico joined a military alliance against the United States, Germany would help Mexico recover the territories it had lost in 1848 including several western states." Even though Mexico refused, it strengthened Wilson's resolve against Germany and was one of the major factors pulling America into WWI (or, as it was known then, the Great War).

The Zimmerman telegram, (which the British intercepted and gave to the USA), in which Germany tried to get Mexico to declare war on the USA. Also the German submarines were sinking unarmed civilian ships sailing from neutral countries.
Nothing forced the US to join WW1. They just wanted to make sure that their allies were safe. Zaragotha (Zara) During world war 1, british intelligence intercepted a telegram sent from the German forces to Mexico. This was known as the Zimmerman Telegram. In this message, Germany asked for Mexico to attack the U.S., to distract them from joining the war in Europe to help their allies. Mexico replied no, because of past loss in a war against the U.S. There was also The Sussex Pledge, a promise which Germany broke, stating that they could not use unrestricted submarine warfare. The sinking of the Lusitania and sinking of American vessels. Also a telegram (no one knows if it is was real of fake) was sent from the British Empire to America, stating that they intercepted it from the Germans. The telegram read, "Mexico, if you join the axis powers you can have all the land you want in the United States,". Of course no one knows if that is true or not.
The Zimmerman Telegram "came out" in 1917. It was first sent, in code, on January 16, 1917, and was promptly intercepted and deciphered by the British, who were already fighting the Germans. They showed it to members of the U.S. Embassy in London in the middle of February, and a few days later it was shown to President Woodrow Wilson. The Germans had already resumed their unrestricted submarine attacks on British merchant and passenger ships around February 1, causing many civilian deaths. Some of those who died were American passengers. These deaths, along with the offer made to Mexico in the Zimmerman Telegram to assist them in invading and reclaiming Southwestern States that the U.S. had won from Mexico decades before, finally ended the isolationism and pacifism that had prevailed in the U.S. for the previous part of the war. The Zimmerman Telegram was one of the major factors that caused the U.S. to declare war on Germany on April 6, 1917.

After the sinking of the Luisitania, a German named Alfred Zimmerman sent a telegram to Mexico. This telegram asked Mexico to take back the Southern states from the United States. The British intercepted this telegram and were more than willing to pass it on to the Americans(The British and French had been fighting for years at this time and needed reinforcements). Alfred Zimmerman's telegram had been the spark in a powder keg of hostile incidents towards the United States.
The Zimmerman Telegram. On January of 1917, the Foreign Minister of Germany, Arthur Zimmerman, sent a telegram to the German ambassador in Mexico with a proposal for military alliance. Germany wanted Mexico to fight the United States to prevent the later from joining WW1.
