well, it depends on what you think of as "the allies" so the answer is yes because wichever side they joined could be "the allies". but i do know that they went against the Germans like most others so if you percieve the Germans as allies the answer is NO.

It was the assassination of the Romanian duke that encouraged Romanians to join the allies to fight for freedom. Romania was a country controlled by Austria-Hungary at that time.
They had a treaty which obligated them to help their allies, France and Russia, and they decided to honour it. They were also fearful of Germany and thought it to be a threat to their own naval development in Europe.
