The states were referred to as the Union were New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas Nevada, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Missouri.
