I heard in a military academic lecture that peace has existed less than 5% of the time.
When one trains for a situation, he/she is preparing themselves. That training should kick in when it is needed most! Practice makes perfect, ya know. If one has been properly trained, some situations will be avoid altogether and when situations can't be avoided, that training will allow a person to assess information and make the best decision possible. If one has had no training whatsoever, the decisions will come from fear and panic. NOT GOOD!
The phrase "Peace for Our Time" was spoken on 30 September 1938 by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in his speech concerning the Munich Agreement and the Anglo-German Declaration.[1]The phrase echoed Benjamin Disraeli, who upon returning from the Congress of Berlin in 1878 stated "I have returned from Germany with peace for our time." It is primarily remembered for its ironic value: less than a year after the agreement, following continued aggression from Hitler and his invasion of Poland, Europe was plunged into World War II.Wikipedia
The British withdrew their demands at the peace conference in Ghent primarily due to the changing circumstances of the War of 1812, including the fatigue of prolonged conflict and shifting priorities following the Napoleonic Wars. Their initial demands, such as territorial gains and the establishment of a Native American buffer state, became less tenable as the U.S. showed resilience and the British public grew weary of the war. Ultimately, both sides recognized the need for a resolution, leading to a mutual desire for peace and the signing of the Treaty of Ghent in December 1814.
Gadaffi was forced from office by the concerted efforts of the US and France mainly, in the somewhat naive expectation that this would somehow lead to peace and democracy. After being ousted, Gadaffi tried to flee to a neighboring country, but his convoy was stopped by a rival clan and Gadaffi was murdered on the spot. His death did not lead to any peace. The various rivaling clans and tribes went at each others throats over the country's oil riches (and remain so more or less to this day) and Lybia is now generally considered to be a 'failed State'.
Adm. Gen. George S. Patton is often credited with the quote "The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war." This quote emphasizes the importance of preparation, hard work, and training during peacetime to be more successful and efficient in times of conflict.
General George S. Patton is often credited with saying "The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war." This quote emphasizes the importance of preparation, hard work, and training in avoiding more difficult situations in the future.
This quote is not from Sun Tzu. It is often attributed to Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, an Indian diplomat and politician. However, the exact origin of this quote is uncertain.
No, but there is less hair for the sweat to be trapped in. (Freshly shaven skin will actually sweat more for a short period of time.)
Deodorant is spread into the armpit to help mask the smell of sweat. They do not cause your armpits to sweat less, though. Antiperspirants plug the sweat glands up in your armpits so that you do sweat less. Most antiperspirants also have a deodorant in them as well, to not only help you to sweat less, but reduce any odor caused by the sweat in your armpits.
There are pills than can make you bleed less and there is of course also the birth control pill which not only regulates but often make women bleed less. Check out the pharmacy or speak to your doctor.
It is able to close up your sweat glands, which makes you sweat less. It really helps
Yes.
Depends what your needs are. Polyester dries faster, so for something such as a swim suit, it would be better than cotton, in that respect. The color in polyester also isn't as likely to bleed in wet conditions. So a multi colored item is less likely to get murky in the wash.
Yes, higher humidity can make you sweat more because sweat is less likely to evaporate quickly in humid conditions. This can make you feel hotter and more uncomfortable as your body works harder to regulate its temperature through sweating.
There are no scientific studies, so no figures can be quoted
You will sweat the same on both days if your activity is the same. It will evaporate faster on a dry day, so you will notice less sweat on a dry day.
