Well, honey, the North wanted to punish the South after the war because they were not too pleased with their little rebellion shenanigans. The South needed a good slap on the wrist to remind them that you can't just secede from the Union and expect to get away with it. So, the North decided to teach them a lesson and make sure they knew who was boss.
With the exception of the air war over the north, the ground war occurred in southern territory. The north invaded the south, the south didn't invade the north.
The North wanted to put taxes on the rich southerners, plantation owners, mill owners, etc. The south didn't want to pay so they tried to secede from the United States to become independent as the Confederate States of America.
the north achieve its objective while the south.....
The war had primarily been fought in the south, not the north. The south had to be re-built.
They both had a plan The north had the anaconda plan The south had the cotton diplomacy
Radical Republicans.
I honestly think it would because the north and south were fighting for what they thought was right! Why punish the south after they have already lost the war and had to give up slavery!
US Civil War=North wanted to retain the South Vietnam War=North wanted to conquer the South
North or South?
The South did not want to get rid of slavery and the North did, The North was trying to force the South into it and they rebelled.
Radical Republicans
the north didnt want slavery, but the south did. this led to the worst and bloodiest war in the history of America
Neither North or South Korea wants war with the US.
The reconstruction plans sought by the Radical Republicans were designed to punish the South for the US Civil War. US President Johnson, who battled with the Radicals, had a more lenient plan for reuniting the North and the South.
