If the lock switch is set to unlocked and it will not open from the inside or outside, the door lock arm may have fallen lose. Take the inside door panel off and check around the door levers and door lock.
I've a peugeot 307 (yreg) and the front passenger door has decided to remain locked ,i can hear the central locking working but the door will not open any ideas, mick
I would suspect that your lock mechanism is worn, so that when you double click the remote unlock the lever does not engage properly. A decent mechanic should be able to order the parts and fix this in a day or so.

Hi, There are two main fuse boxes in the Venture. One is under the hood, mounted just above the battery. The other one is located on the dash, on the passenger side. You will have to open the passenger side door to get to that fuse box. I have included a link that shows pictures of both of these, and the how the fuses are used. Good Luck, Greg
i wouldn't know --- there is no 1996 chevy venture, they started making them in 1997. However, almost all the venture fuses are located on the right side dash board, open the front passenger door
It is on the passenger side right next to the glove box. You can only open it if you have the passenger side door open. It says fuses on the cover.
