What effect did the seven years war have on the us?

One could argue that it led to the American Revolution. The British were (quite reasonably) determined that the colonists were going to pay for the Seven Years War and began levying a series of taxes to that end. This eventually led the colonists to conclude that they would be better off without the British.

Could a colonist have the right to settle in the Ohio river valley after the french and Indian war?

They were forbidden to settle the newly acquired area. Britain feared another costly conflict with the Native Americans. This did not stop the colonists from settling, but they faced mortal danger in the river valley. The Native American population greatly outnumbered them. Many colonists were killed in that area, before the Louisiana Purchase.

Why did The American colonists used the slogan no taxation without representation?

The colonists thought it was not fair if England kept taxing them when they didn't even have a say in Parliament. So I think that it was a meaningful slogan because to this day you can tax someone without a vote or say.

How did the Seven Years War help start the American Revolution?

Following the French and Indian War (7 Years War in Europe) Great Britain's economy was in trouble. The cost of the war, both in Europe and America, added to the economic troubles facing Great Britain at that time. Increasing taxes in Great Britain was out of the question because taxes were already very high. The British were among the most heavily taxed citizens at the time. The Parliament and the British Prime Ministers felt that the American colonists should at least pay their share of the war. The British had defeated the French and the western lands and Canada were now open to expansion and settlement, without the fear of French attack. Thus, the Parliament of Great Britain began a series of taxation measures which the American colonists found objectionable. The argument by the colonists was that the Parliament could not levy internal taxes on the Americans because the colonists had no representation in Parliament. The Parliament countered that argument by claiming that the Parliament represented all British subjects, regardless of where they lived or if they elected members to Parliament. The economic crisis would lead to strained relations between the colonies and the Mother Country.

Why did the american colonists oppose the taxes imposed by the british after 1763?

The British were imposing very high taxes on the American colonists after 1763. They saw the money that could be raised on taxing the colonists as a way to recover money spent on the French and Indian War that brought their country financial hardship. Without the American colonists having representation in Parliament there was very little the colonists could do to contest these high rates of taxes.

What did the colonists and great Britain disagreed over?

The taxation to the colonists. Britain said that they could do that because they were in charge of everything that happened in their territory. The colonists said that they could not be taxed because there was no representation in Britain's Parliament.

Can an argument with a true premises and true conclusion be invalid?

Yes. It could be a coincidence that the premises and conclusion are all true. For example, here is an argument: 1. It is true that if a person belongs to the Republican Party they must be an American. 2. Mitt Romney is an American. 3. Therefore, the conclusion is that Mitt Romney is a Republican. Although both premises and the conclusion are true, the argument is not valid. That is because it is possible to imagine an argument in this form where the premises were true, but the conclusion is not. (Imagine if the second premise were "Barack Obama is an American" which is true, leading to the conclusion "Barack Obama is a Republican" which is false.)

Why was tea so important to the American colonists?

It was important so that the colonies could export the tea back to England, in return for materials they needed but could not get in America.

Was population growth a major cause of the American Revolution?

Population growth could be argued to be a cause of the American Revolution. The Proclamation of 1763 restricted colonists to go west of the Appalachian Mountains, this is because if America was to grow any larger, mercantalism would be harder to enforce. This upset colonists, and could be a reason why they wanted to cut their connection to Britain

What was the imaginary line colonists could not cross?

The colonists were instructed by the British not to cross the imaginary north to south line they projected down the crest of the Appalachian Mountains. This was done to prevent attacks by the Native American tribes that lived in the west. A lot of colonists rejected this rule and moved west anyway.

In the American Revolution France gave money and military support to the what?

During the American Revolution, France supplied the new American government with money (gold and French Francs), soldiers, and the French Navy. After the Americans defeated the British at the Battle of Saratoga, the French realized the American colonists could defeat the British regulars, and that helping the Americans would potentially weaken their hated British rivals.
