It depends on the enemy you are dealing with. Sometimes people are jaded from things that happened to them and they take it out on others; while other people simply don't like certain people. I wouldn't waste my energy on trying to make an enemy your friend. Be pleasant, don't join the bottom of the barrel they're in and move on. However, it's good to keep your enemies close, get to know their habits, but watch your back!

∙ 16y agoI personally feel that it is impossible to become friends with someone who used to be an "enemy" (it is such a strong word...). The best you can get is the knowledge of how to get along peacefully, without fighting and/or offending and/or hurting - but that is not the same as being friends. The first step is the hardest: forgiveness. You must forgive each other for the bad blood (both of you must). There's a lot of maturing (thinking, understanding, learning) beneath this action, so it's a long way to go. People usually say or do things as a reaction to something; try to understand if you had anything to do with your "enemy" behaviour, and try to identify what you must do/say or avoid doing/saying so that the bad chain reaction halts. Second step is a natural one: move forward. Meaning: try not to think about the past. If you get stuck to it, you will never give your best to that relationship. Good Luck.
