It depends on the movie, you mean the musical, or the drama version which have been several movies made in the last eighty years. Lon Chaney's Phantom 1925 Classic is the unmasking, when Christian takes his mask off revealing his scarred skull like face. 1943 Claude Rains as the Phantom playing the violin, chiller performance with his mild manners unexpected villain almost gives sympathic feel to the audience for him.Susanna Foster who played Christine, with a lovely soprano who had given up her singing after this movie. Nelson Eddy his baritone voice is super notch form, sings brilliantly with his co-star heroine Susanna Foster as Christine. The musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, it have to be The Music of the Night when the Phantom reveals his love for Christine. The final scene where Christine is trying to save Raoul her fiancee from the misguided Phantom who has never known love and kindness.
