Two things to check. Did it lose the ground and is the antenna disconnected?
A radio programme receiver does not need to be directly in view of the transmitter to receive programme signals. For low frequency radio waves diffraction can allow them to be received behind hills, although repeater stations are often used to improve the quality of the signals.
radio astronomers can collect data only after dark... :) this is not true because all that is needed to be done is for the astronomer to receive to their computers. now that is an epic answer... Kris forster...aka "dad" you suck. :)
Some reports indicate that the radio operator on the Californian had turned his radio off after having received a rude complaint from the Titanic radio operator. The Titanic radio operator had complained that the frequent iceberg warnings from the Californian were interfering with him sending personal radio messages from the Titanic passengers.
The Sun generates electromagnetic energy in every frequency as it fuses hydrogen to helium in its core. Electromagnetic energy is, depending on the frequency, light, heat, radio, X-rays, gamma rays, and everything in between. So the Sun is continually generating radio energy and radiating it out in all directions. We can receive those radio signals from the Sun and other stars; that's the basics of how "radio telescopes" work. But sometimes, the radio signals from the Sun can interfere with the radio signals that we ourselves generate, and this can cause disruptions in our own signals. This can especially be an issue when the Sun has emitted a "Coronal Mass Ejection" which strikes the Earth, causing a "solar storm".
1900 radios cost about $10-$20 dollars in the 1900's

You'll have to reprogram the radio code into the radio. This is done to prevent use of a stolen radio. The code should be in your owners manual or the dealership can get it for you.
Usually the nuts are under the radio knobs & then it's easy.
I have never seen a vehicle that has an on/off switch for the speakers, including the Windstar.See "Related Questions" below for more about Windstar radio wiring
See if the "Related Question" below regarding the radio in a Windstar - expect it to be exactly the same...

You can switch the traction control system off using the switch to the left of the radio on a 2000 Ford Windstar
If you disconnect a battery cable the preset radio stations and the clock has to be reset
I would be 1 dozen doughnuts that the radios are interchangeable.Check a local auto salvage/junk yard for a definitive yes/no.
