Australia has a Federalised form of Government, with Governors for each State overseen by a Supreme Government in Canberra, lead by a Prime Minister. New Zealand is not divided into States in the same way- although it consists of two islands, it is a single country which is governed by the nation's Parliament as a whole, with no regionalised autonomy for it's component parts (though like Australia it is led by a Prime Minister, not a President, and in both countries the Queen of England is the ceremonial Head of State).
Very interesting question! :)
Besides the fact that both countries can trace their origins to European colonization and both can be called "western democracies", that's where all (if any) similarities end.

New Zealand has more affinity to British and American cultures. As Mexico is the immediate neighbor and closest business partner to the United States, there should be no problem if a New Zelander visits Mexico: he or she would be viewed as another "güerito" or "güerita" of American/European origin. The other way around would be a little more problematic, as Mexicans aren't accustomed to the strong accent of New Zealand's English.

we classify animals because... 1. It's easier to study and identify 2. All animals have similarities and differences
Yes, both similarities and differences can be drawn out of any two objects. This would apply to any two animals, whether they were different or the same species.

They do lots of things different than other animals but you can't list all the similarities and differences in one answer.
Kiwi are found only in New Zealand, and New Zealand is located about 2000km southeast of Australia. Kiwi are certainly closer to Australian than animals in most other countries of the world.
Native animals, as they only live in Australia and nowhere else in the world, so therefore they are native to Australia, e.g. Kiwis (as in the bird) only live in New Zealand because of what the habitat in New Zealand offers kiwis, this means that kiwis are a native New Zealand animal, and are not found anywhere else in the world in a habitat (not in a zoo).
