Much of what is taught in the Qu'ran is to be found in the Old and New Testaments of The Bible. This is understandable if indeed the angel Gabriel instructed the Prophet Muhammad, but also understandable simply because Christianity and Judaism were already well established in Mecca so that Muhammad simply knew what the Bible says.
The Qu'ran accepts the biblical stories of Adam and Eve, the Noachic Flood, the biblical patriarchs and the Israelite Exodus. It even accepts the virgin birth of Jesus, while rejecting that he was the Son of God.
