Teal Wicks damaged her voice performing eight shows a week, on March 18 2009 she had to leave the show during interval. Vicki Noon played the role until Wicks returned on Saturday May 2 2009, performing only 3-4 shows a week, with Noon playing the rest. As of May 19 2009 Teal played 6 shows a week, then from June 9 2009 went back to eight shows and is now back to full health.
While Wicks was away from the show Meredith Kaye Clark from the US Tour of Wicked, stepped in as standby for Noon. From April 7 2009, Dee Roscioli from the Chicago production starred as standby until April 19. Noon returned to the role of standby when Wicks returned part-time on May 2. Noon, played 3-4 shows a week, while on standby when Wicks was on. She fully returned to standby when Wicks recovered on June 9.

Teal Wicks has played Elphaba in the Loas Angeles production of Wicked and the San Francisco production. This will be her first time on broadway.
