that is the drive assembly which the power provided by the rotation of the crankshaft and through the engine drive belt causes the rotaion of the alternator which produces the electrical power to the auto and battery charging system
You do not need to modify the alternator if it is working properly. The voltage regulator controls the output of the alternator and it does function at low RPMs, if all systems are working properly. So if it is not charging at low RPMs you have a problem. Most auto parts stores will check your charging system free of charge. You do not need to modify the alternator if it is working properly. Turn the DC generator inside out and you have an alternator .
I believe the unit inside the air cleaner assembly is the ecm. Electronic control module/ car's computer.
Yes, an assembly is a group of people or things so it would be a collective noun. The noun 'assembly' is a standard collective noun for an assembly of clergy.
A voltage regulator is just as it says. It regulates the voltage that the alternator in your vehicle puts out. Too much voltage and you'll overamp your wiring, and too little can cause parts not to function properly.
which pully do i remove tension to remove the alternator?
The stator is the stationary winding assembly that makes the magnetic field inside the alternator. It is this magnetic field that the armature rotates in generating the electricity.
if the car doesn't have an automatic tensioner than if the belt is around the alternator pully you loosen the bolt holding the alternator on and move the alternator to tighten the belt.
Check the alignment of your pully and also look for a cracked or broken pully.
two. one around the crank pully, idle, ac and alternator and one in the back on the crank pully, and others for the engine
On your alternator, there should be two bolts on either side of the alternator. Losen the surentine belt up enoungh to slide off the pully of the alternator. Remove the two bolts on both sides of the alternator and slide the alternator up.
Under the alternator above the crank pully. 10mm bolt.
Find the idler pully of the serpentine belt system. It is usually the one that appears to not "drive" any system and is normally located towards the top of the other pullys. On the idler pully assembly, you will find a bolt (not the bolt in center of pully or the one at the pivot point of assembly). Using the correct sized socket and a large ratchet (or wrench) as a lever, pull or push the idler pully assembly, which is spring tensioned, until the pully moves in far enough to get new belt on. Slowly release tension until belt is tight against the idler pully under the assembly's spring tension. Be sure belt is properly seated on all pullys without any twists.
Alternater is frozen or the idler pully. Check each pully the belt goes around, one of them will be stuck.
The tensioner pully is just to the left of the alternator. It is an arm with a round pully on the end of it. It has a square 3/8 ratchet attatchment. It is about 7 inches long.
There is a pully that will ratchet up and down to loosen or tighten the belt. Take the belt off, unplug the wire from the alternator, and there should only be 2 or 3 bolts holding the alternator on.
to hook up an alternator with out ac just don't put the belt that hooks up to the crank pully back on.,.,
