The Roquefort is made in Roquefort-sur-Soulzon (link) in the southern French departement of Aveyron, itself in the administrative region of Midi-Pyrénées (regional capital: Toulouse).
The cheese is a regional and national treasure. Charles the Great requested the local bishop to send him two crates per year, to his palace in Aix-la-Chapelle (nowadays Aachen in Germany), a three-week horseback ride away.

France is well known for its cheese, for instance the camembert, a round, soft, white crusted cheese which comes from the region of Normandy, west of Paris.
The camembert is a round soft cheese.
"La Brie" is a French region just East of Paris where "le brie" (soft cheese) is produced. A similar cheese called Coulommiers is produced in the same region whereas the Camembert (resembling, but smaller) comes from Normandy, West of Paris.

At first I said no, but then I checked. The name camembert, as a cheese has become a generic, unprotected name. On these grounds you could produce a similar cheese everywhere, but to a French palate, that would be a bit like drinking Russian champagne. The French producers won the right to a protected appellation, the "camembert de Normandie" which can be made only in its region of origin, Normandy, in western France.
In French, "Camembert" is a masculine noun, so it is referred to as "le Camembert." This cheese, originating from the Normandy region, is well-known for its creamy texture and distinct flavor.

I quite like Brie and Camembert.
